WATCH OUT!

These are larvae of the very common species, the Japanese beetle. As we know these beetles love to eat EVERYTHING, are invasive, and tend to take a huge liking to the plant Virginia creeper. As these like to eat everything it is very important we get them off our plants for good.

At Eastside Growers Collective we worked to remove these suckers. You can get a container with soapy water to drown the beetles or squish them to return them to the soil.

Although killing these beetles is a bit cruel it is even more cruel that they eat all of the plants we grow here in the garden. It is important we get these suckers off of our plants to help preserve the crops we are growing and ensure quality for this delicious food for the community.
