Compost Without Composting Bins

Hello gardeners, 

Are you interested in composting but don't have the space or means to invest in a compost bin? Composting in your raised beds could be a great option for you. 

To do so, take old produce that is rotting or close to rotting and place at the bottom of your raised beds. Then apply soil, leaves, mulch and fresh compost in layers until the raised bed is filled. 

This mixture will sit and rest in the beds over the winter until you are ready to plant in the beds again.  

This concoction will provide nutrients to your soil making the raised beds a great way to grow healthy, nutritious food!
