We believe that everything we do has an impact on the earth, good and bad. Our work is to create change leaders through programming that facilitates a democratic learning process to understand our waste and consumption patterns so we can begin building better ways of living with the earth. In the words of Paulo Freire, our mission is rooted in,
the critical effort through which men and women [and kids] take themselves in hand and become agents of curiosity, become investigators, become subjects of an ongoing process of quest for the revelation of "why" of things and facts...I have long found myself insisting on what I call a "reading of the world and reading of the word." Not a reading of the word alone, nor a reading only of the world, but both together in dialectical solidarity.
